Statement of Faith
The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.
Trinity
We believe that there is One God eternally revealed to the world in the Father, the Son - Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. By Him were all things created. God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.
The Father
God is great: He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the multi-faceted work of the Holy Spirit to bring conviction of sin, revelation of the truth of the Gospel of Christ. Jesus Christ is the “baptizer with the Holy Spirit” for the empowerment of the Church through the Baptism with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides believers into all truth and righteousness, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin and draws people to God. He gives us the power to witness, comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts as God wills, and makes us more like Christ.
Mankind
Humans are made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Humans were created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, humanity cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
The Church
We believe in the local church as a place where believers gather together unified through faith in Christ for discipleship, edification, teaching from the Word of God, and ministry to and through each other according to their spiritual gift. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and obeying all of His commands, and it seeks to bring the Good News to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.
Jesus Christ, The Son
Jesus Christ on earth was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only plan for bringing people who are far from God back into a right relationship with God. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life on this earth, performed many miracles, was crucified for our sins, buried and was raised from the dead for our justification. He lived a perfect life, so that He could be a substitution for us in satisfying God’s demands for perfection. He is eternally victorious by defeating death in His resurrection so that we can have life.
Eternity
Humans were created to exist forever. God desires for all of us to be with Him forever. Humans will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
(John 3:16, 36; Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15)
Salvation
We believe that mankind is sinful by nature and will perish without the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as revealed in His Gospel. God wishes that no one should perish, but that all would come to this saving knowledge through the preaching of the Good News. We believe that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to redeem all of mankind. By the name of Jesus Christ, and His name only, can mankind be saved. Salvation occurs by grace alone when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. Jesus Christ sits at the Right Hand of the Father and will return personally in power and glory to receive His Church unto Himself.
Second Coming
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. Jesus will return for his Church to make All Things New. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.
